THE MODERN JIVE SKILLS TOOLKIT

A toolkit of 80 skills to draw on for strong social and competition dancing. Some skills are more or less critical at different levels of experience. Not every skill needs to be used in every dance.

Why this framework exists

1. Help Dancers build a specific, shared vocabulary for what to practice next.
2. Help Teachers diagnose what a student needs next, and plan group or private lessons around specific, nameable skills.
3. Help Judges describe what they're seeing with more precise, specific language.
